Pregnancy alert! Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg and her husband Nicolas Bagory are expecting their first child together.

On Monday, December 18th, the Luxembourg Royal Court issued a statement announcing the expansion of the royal family. The statement reads,

“Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess are delighted to announce that Princess Alexandra and Mister Nicolas Bagory are expecting their first child. Birth is scheduled for spring. The Grand Duke, the Grand Duchess as well as the members of the two families are united in great happiness,”

The unborn baby will be the first grandchild of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa from their daughter’s side. Further, they already have seven grandchildren from their son’s side.

Princess Alexandra is the only daughter and the fourth child of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa.

She is currently sixth in the line of succession to the throne of Luxembourg.

Princess Alexandra and Frenchman Nicolas Bagory tied the knot in April 2023 with two wedding ceremonies.

On April 22, 2023, the couple had a court marriage at the Town Hall of the City of Luxembourg.

A week later, they hosted a religious wedding on April 29, 2023, in the Saint Trophyme church in Bormer-less-Mimosas. A court released a statement at the time announcing their wedding,

“The two families join in the happiness of the engaged couple by surrounding them with their affection. Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess are delighted to announce the engagement of their daughter, Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra, to Mr Nicolas Bagory,”

It’s unclear how long the two have been together, however, many speculated that Nicolas would have met Princess Alexandra in 2021, during an interview organized with her mother, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa for the magazine Dynasty.

Many left shocked when the pair announced their engagement on November 7, 2022.

Who is Nicolas Bagory?

Nicolas Bagory is a 35-year-old France native. He is presently gaining fame as the husband of Alexandra du Luxembourg.

He was raised in Brittany, France where he studied political science and classics at the Ecole Superieure des Humanites et du Management d’Angers.

Similarly, he received his master’s degree from Sorbonne University in Paris in 2014, majoring in Classics and Latin.

Talking about his profession, Nicolas is a Professor and Editor. He works as a literature teacher in a private middle school in Courbevoie.

Similarly, he is a publishing director of the Catholic publishing house First Part and also works for the creation of social and cultural projects.
