Princess Isabella is the first female to join the Danish royal line since her great aunt, Queen Anne-Marie of Greece, was born in 1946. She is second in line of succession to the Danish throne, behind her elder brother, Crown Prince Christian.

Because of the worsening COVID-19 problem in Denmark, the siblings’ stay was cut short, and they returned home in March. A statement released in March said that Isabella will begin attending Herlufsholm School in August 2022.

Princess’ parents, however, announced in a statement on June 26, 2022, that she would not be starting at Herlufsholm after all due to recurring issues of violence, bullying, and sexual abuse at the school, and that she would instead begin 9th form at Ingrid Jespersens Gymnasieskole in Copenhagen in September 2022.

In August 2023, Isabella began upper secondary school at Øregård Gymnasium, where her father, Frederik, and uncle, Joachim, had previously attended.
