Rachel Slawson; Know About The First Openly Bisexual Contestant On The History Of Miss USA Pageant!

Rachel Slawson is the first openly bisexual contestant
After completing five times, Rachel finally won the crown of Miss Utah. Now she will be representing herself on the platform of Miss USA. She will make history as she will be the only one and first openly bisexual contestant on the Miss USA platform.
In the 68 years of history of the Miss USA pageant to compete as an openly bisexual contestant. This is the 7th pageant, however, she talked about her sexuality on the stage for the first time after she won Miss Utah USA.
The beauty pageant winner stated:
“This is my 7th pageant, my 5th time competing at Miss Utah USA, and tonight I finally experienced hands down the biggest dream of my life.”
The beauty pageant winner also talked about the mental health struggle she faced in her life. She also revealed that she wanted to end her life when she lost Miss Utah at 19 years old.
Slawson also opened up about the disorder, saying:
“After a few trips to the psych ward, being diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder… and finally coming to terms with who I am as a queer woman. The only difference between tonight, and the night I left broken-hearted wishing I wasn’t alive, is that I knew I was enough before I arrived,”

This is the first time in history?
The LGBTQ+ community is something you won’t be able to see in the beauty pageant that often. One of the most famous beauty pageant competitions Miss Universe even banned the community to participate until 2012. Back in 2018, they had the first trans competitor Miss Spain, Angela Ponce.
After a year another contestant from the community hit the stage. Swe Zin Htet became the first gay contestant to take part in the Miss Universe. However, she could not make it to the Top 20 but her fans and the Miss Universe Organization stood by her side.
At the time, they stated:
“Miss Universe will always champion women to be proud of who they are,”
Rachel Slawson is working for the revolution
Miss Utah has made history and though the winner’s name is not there, she is pretty busy currently. The beauty pageant winner has made the list of work she wants to do.
She wants to go to school and businesses to discuss suicide prevention. Moreover, she will continue to be vocal about bipolar disorder and her sexuality.
In addition, she also added she wants stereotypes for the pageant to the competition and also stated:
“Pageantry comes with an allure of perfection, and I don’t think that’s changed. I just think that the definitions of beauty and perfection are expanding.”
