Hollywood legend Rita Moreno shares the story of her incomplete abortion
Women from all over the world, especially in the United States are unhappy with the American Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
Since then, many female celebs have come together to share their side of the story and why every woman must have an access to safe abortion.
Rita Moreno, the West Side Story opened up about her pregnancy story to the world. The 90-year-old shared her dreadful story of a botched abortion she suffered while she was in a relationship with her then-boyfriend Marlon Brando.
The actress revealed that although abortion was illegal back then, she found a doctor through some friends.
Talking about the painful experience, she said:
“He was a real doctor — Marlon paid him $500 — as opposed to something in a back alley.”
The actress started bleeding badly as she later learned that her abortion was not a successful one.
The Academy Award winner continued:
”Marlon took me to the hospital. I had what they told me was a ‘disturbed pregnancy,'”
“The doctor didn’t do anything really, except make me bleed. In other words, he didn’t do it right. I didn’t know it then, but I could have died. What a mess. What a dreadful mess.”

Uma Thurman had an abortion in her teens
One of Hollywood’s biggest faces, Uma Thurman reveals her heartbreaking abortion story in a personal essay for the Washington Post.
The Kill Bill actress was impregnated by a much older man when she was just a teen working in Europe. The actress thought that terminating her pregnancy was the hardest decision of her life.
In the letter, Uma wrote:
“[It] caused me anguish then and that saddens me even now, but it was the path to the life full of joy and love that I have experienced,”
“Choosing not to keep that early pregnancy allowed me to grow up and become the mother I wanted and needed to be.”
