The two have been on-again and off-again in recent months. On February 6, 2021, the NFL quarterback confirmed their engagement during the NFL Honors award.

He took the stage while receiving the 2020 AP Most Valuable Player award where he said,

“2020 was definitely a crazy year filled with lots of change, growth, some amazing, memorable moments, 180 straight days of having my nose hair scraped, playing for very little fans or no stand the entire season. I engaged and I played some of the vest football in my career.”
