Family of five! Shawn Johnson East gave birth to her third child with her husband Andrew East on the 12th of December 2023.

On Friday, December 15, she announced the baby’s birth on Instagram, posting a series of black-and-white images of herself, her spouse, and their two older kids posing with the newborn.

The couple are already a parent to two children Jett James, 2, and Drew Hazel, 4.

She also captioned the post writing “12.12.23,” alongside a bear emoji, which appeared to be a hint about the baby’s name.

Two days after she shared another post giving more details about her new baby, including its name and sex. The retired Olympic gymnast, 31, shared a family photo alongside a sweet caption,

“Barrett “Bear” Madison East… @bearmadisoneast. We’ve all been waiting for you,”

Andrew, for his part, shared a selfie of himself along with his wife and newborn and captioned it,

“First one was scary, third one is fun @shawnjohnson #kids #family #baby.”

Johnson East posted further pictures of Bear on her Instagram Story, including a video of the infant dozing off on her chest. She then wrote next to the photo,

“Our sweet sweet Bear, Eating and sleeping like a champ”

Barrett “Bear” Madison East was born via C-section

Shawn Johnson East had a C-section to deliver her third kid. She gave details in their FamilyMade newsletter regarding both before and after delivery. She began,

“For the first few days, we’re soaking it in as a family but we promise to share all of that very soon, including lots of pics!”

The athlete stated that she was “feeling good” after the delivery. She continued,

“Well, as good as one can feel after giving birth haha, Our baby is healthy and that’s all we can ask for! Recovery is always a process and I’ve learned to be really patient with my body. Not trying to rush anything and really just going to soak it all in,”
