Fashion designers refused to dress up American singer Bebe Rexha for the Grammy awards.
She talks about it at the function and Demi Lovato praises her for doing it!

Fashion designers and their refusal

Singer Bebe Rexha had requested many designers to make a dress for her for the Grammy Awards function but they refused due to her large body size.

Bebe had got a nomination for the New Artist and Country Duo/Group Performance at the Grammy Awards. She wanted to work with some of the fashion designers on a custom-made gown for the evening.

But they did not comply with her request. Bebe was angry and upset at these body-shaming fashion designers and took to Instagram to vent her feelings. She has not named the designers in her post.

Bebe Rexha hits out at the body-shaming fashion designers

Bebe Rexha was looking forward to the evening at the Grammys and wanted to look her best. She approached several fashion designers to create a gown for her for the occasion. But they refused. Bebe slammed them on her Instagram by posting a video.

She said:

“So I finally get nominated at the Grammys and it’s like the coolest thing ever.
‘And a lot of times artists will go and talk to designers and they’ll make them custom dresses to walk the red carpet …
‘So I had my team hit out a lot of designers and a lot of them do not want to dress me because I’m too big,”

She is upset that the designers are putting out the wrong message that anyone who is above size 8 is not beautiful. Bebe further stated:

“If a size 6-8, is too big, then I don’t know what to tell you.
‘Then I don’t want to wear your f***ing dresses.
‘Cause that’s crazy … You’re saying that all the women in the world that are size 8 and up are not beautiful, and they cannot wear your dresses.”

She added:

“Im sorry, I had to get this off my chest. If you don’t like my fashion style or my music that’s one thing. But don’t say you can’t dress someone that isn’t a runway size.”

Bebe Rexha gets support

She snubbed them and on reading her post, designer August Getty approached her. He said:

“You are beautiful! Every woman of every size is beautiful! Just let me know when I should start sketching.”

August had dressed Bebe before and also he is a designer for Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, Miley Cyrus, and Katy Perry.

Demi Lovato also supported Bebe. She commented:

“F–king preach!!! Love this and you for speaking your mind and using your voice!!!”

Neyo also put in her response and wrote:

“Amen.”

There has been no word from the dress designers who refused Bebe for making the dress, though it is likely that they might have understood whom Bebe is talking about.
