Paul Arriola, 27, is now married. The soccer player tied the knot to his long-time girlfriend Akela Banuelos over the weekend.

The wedding ceremony took place at Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, on the evening of the 6th of January.

Paul and Akela have an intimate ceremony surrounded by 150 guests, including former football player Sebastian Lletget and his fiancee singer Becky G.

At their wedding, there were 10 boys served as groomsmen while 8 girls served as bridesmaids. While bridesmaids opted for golden color sleeveless bodycon dresses then groomsmen looked dapper in black formal suits and pants.

The wedding was planned by Sarah Uhran of The APC Agency. Similarly, the wedding venue was decorated with all flowers from Shawna Yamamoto and there was live music from DJ Legend and some photo booth fun from Mir Mir photo.

After the wedding ceremony, they hosted a reception which Banuelos described as a ‘dream’. The bride told PEOPLE that she really ‘loved it all,’ and added,

“This was just as I had imagined it. Our vows were emotional, the weather was perfect, I don’t think I could ask for anything more.”

Furthermore, the newlywed couple plans to head off for their honeymoon during Arriola’s off-season before February.

Wedding attires

The bride of the day, 26, looked stunning in an off-shoulder white gown from Galia Lahav dress. Similarly, she kept her blonde hair down. Paul, on the other hand, wore an all-black tuxedo underneath a white shirt and a bow tie.

While speaking to PEOPLE, Arriola recalled the special moment of their big day, stating,

“As a surprise, Akela got me a sign for the front seat on the aisle to remember my late father. It meant so much to me that she knew how badly I wanted him to be there.”

Similarly, the FC Dallas player got emotional when he saw Arriola in her dress, he said,

“We did our first look off the bluff before the ceremony. And I told everyone with me I wasn’t going to cry when I turned around to see her. I cried … I definitely cried. It was magical. I married my best friend and the person who makes me a better man. I’m such a lucky man.”
