At the age of 29, Stacey begins her political journey when she was chosen for Deputy City attorney in the City of Atlanta. She became a member of the Georgia House of representatives from the 84^th district.

Likewise, she worked as a Minority Leader of the Georgia House of Representatives in the year between 2011 and 2017.

In the year 2018, Abrams was nominated for the Georgia gubernatorial election. Fortunately, she won the democratic nomination on May 22. She became successful to create history after winning her party’s nomination. She was the first black woman in the U.S party’s nominee for governor of Georgia.
