The Olympian skater Evan Lysacek shared the vows with his girlfriend, Duangpatra “Dang” Bodiratnangkura on Thursday, December 12. The two had their big day ceremony with their friends and family in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Olympian skater Evan and his wife Dang had their wedding ceremony in Bangkok, Thailand in an intimate ceremony with their family and friends. They had their nuptials in a traditional Buddhist ceremony with their 70 friends and family.

In between the traditional ceremony, they also gave the American modern touch to their wedding ceremony. The duo exchanged the Patcharavipa’s designed rings recording the date and time of their big day. After the ceremony, they had a rehearsal lunch on Friday at the Siam Society in Bangkok. Evan and his wife held the reception of their marriage on Saturday at Nai Lert Park of the Bodiratnangkura family.

The guest of their big day included the names of Olympic medalist Tessa Virtue and lifelong coach Frank Carroll. In addition, Bodiratnangkura is the great-granddaughter of the important businessman Nai Lert. So, the princess of Patiala, the royal princess of Bhutan and Thai government officials also showed up to give the blessings.

Moreover, the duo had their wedding in the perfect mix of east and west vibes in the celebration. The new bride later explained their wedding saying:

“We not only wanted to welcome our guests to Thailand, but also to give them a unique experience here in Bangkok. Our lives will always be a fusion of Thai and Western culture, which has been an important consideration in planning our wedding celebration.”

Evan knew she was the one since the beginning

People take the time to realize their connection with their partner to think of their wedding. However, the Olympian knew she was the one since the very beginning. The Olympian skater met his now-wife back in 2011 through their mutual friends.

The duo was close since they met, however, they started dating only during the summer of 2018. As per the skater, he had a love at first sight when he saw Dang. He further explained:

“When relationships are hard, they’re impossible. But when they’re right, it’s so easy. So for us it was so easy — and that’s kind of how I knew it was right.”

Before the big day, he also explained that he was not that anxious or nervous as he knew she was the best girl for him. A day before their wedding the skater explained:

“I’m 100 percent sure that Dang is the right woman for me. And hopefully I can be the right man for her always. But I know that I love her and that I want to spend every day with her.”
