The dreadful and painful death

The American actress Erin Moran had gradually drifted away from the limelight. She had started as a child artist and went on to do great roles in ‘Happy Days’ and ‘Joanie Loves Chachi’.

Her last role was a minor one in 2010 in ‘Not Another B-movie’. Indiana authorities received a 911 call just after 4 pm on 22nd April 2017 regarding an unresponsive female.

They reached the spot and the first respondents realized that the female was in fact actress Erin Moran. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was attempted but in vain. She was declared dead before arrival by the first-aid team.  A post-mortem was conducted on her.

She was suspected to have died of a drug overdose. Her house search did not reveal any drug possession. Her autopsy revealed that she had fatal complications of her stage 4 throat cancer.

Reactions of celebrities and her co-stars

Her co-star Henry Winkler tweeted:

“OH Erin… now you will finally have the peace you wanted so badly here on earth …Rest In It serenely now…too soon”

Ron Howard who worked with her on ‘Happy Days’ wrote:

“Such sad sad news. RIP Erin. I’ll always choose to remember you on our show making scenes better, getting laughs and lighting up tv screens.”

Likewise, her other co-star tweeted:

“So incredibly sad to hear about Erin. A wonderful, sweet, caring, talented woman. I can’t really comprehend this right now. Very painful loss,”

Tagging it with a Moran photo and broken heart emojis, Dave Navarro said:

 “#RIP #ERINMORAN.”

Also, Willie Aames wrote:

“RIP to my old colleague and childhood friend ERIN MORAN. So Saddened to hear you have passed. I’ve known Erin Moran since childhood doing ‘GunSmoke.’ More recently as a troubled soul. So saddened to hear of her passing. RIP ERIN.”

Erin Moran has been known to be a very caring and good co-star. She also was reported to have said that she considers all her previous co-workers as her family members.

Erin Moran’s troubled final years

Erin Moran had spoken about feelings of depression in 1988. She did not get acting roles after her ‘Happy Days’ concluded. She was married to Rocky Fergusson from 1987-1993.

In an interview given in 2007, Erin Moran mentioned that her first husband was envious of her fame and wanted her to be unrecognizable.

After her divorce from him, she married Wal-Mart employee Steven Fleischmann in November 1993. They shifted from Los Angeles to California. Though married for more than 20 years, the couple did not have children.

Her California home was also lost to foreclosure. Erin Moran and her husband had to move to her mother-in-law’s trailer park home in Indiana.

Erin Moran got heavily addicted to alcohol. It has been reported by people around that Erin Moran had started acting weird during the last few days of her life.

She probably also had lesbian inclinations for which her husband had given her a scolding in public. Her frequent post-alcohol brawls and late nights upset her mother-in-law who was forced to evict her out of the trailer.

Erin Moran was rendered homeless and she used to stay at cheap motels. The  ‘Happy days’ lawsuit which she had filed with other 4 of her co-stars won her $ 65000 in 2012 which she was probably using for her daily needs and accommodation.

Erin Moran had a very painful the last few days of her life. May her soul rest in peace!
