The Vampire Diaries Star, Nina Dobrev Tributes her Beloved Cat In an Instagram with Heartbreaking Post After It Dies!
- The Vampire Diaries Star Nina Dobrev is currently mourning for her beloved 18-year-old cat, who had nine different names and has died.
- On March 27, 2017, Nina shared a heart-rendering series of images of her favorite feline, whom she used to call her ‘rock.’
Death Of Cat
‘The Vampire Diaries’ star posted a series of photos of her adorable little pet. In two of her collages, Dobrev can be seen cuddling Poop as a kitten and as an adult cat.
Dobrev also wrote a lengthy caption remembering the good time she had spent with her cat. She mentioned that they had traveled to different parts of the United States together.
The actress also revealed that her cat passed away on Saturday,
“To my sweet sweet angel, As I look back on the last 18 years together, I smile through my tears,” the Vampire Diaries actress, 28, captioned a series of photos of the feline. “You brought me so much joy, love, unlimited cuddles and so many sandpaper kisses. I still remember the first day I brought you home, the size of a tea cup purring as I held you in my hands. You were so fragile and furry, as soft as the worlds tiniest cashmere blanket. I knew in that moment you were my soulmate. From there our long journey began and we were inseparable.”
She told her followers and fans:
“We grew up together in Toronto, then you followed me to Atlanta, and from there we road tripped across the United States through New Orleans, Austin City, Amarillo Texas, Santa Fe, Las Vegas, we even saw the Grand Canyon for our first time together. Our last chapter and final destination was here in Los Angeles. I hope I was able to give you a beautiful happy life filled with love because that’s what you gave me.”
Time together with Cat
In her post, she spoke of all the different places that she and her cat had traveled.
“Our last chapter and final destination was here in Los Angeles,” she said. “I hope I was able to give you a beautiful happy life filled with love, because that’s what you gave me. Saying goodbye to you on Saturday was the most difficult thing I have had to do in my life.”
She continued,
“It was bittersweet, but I’m so happy I got to hold you in my arms one last time. My heart hurts, I miss you more than I words can explain but I can still feel your presence, energy, and light. I know you’re still with me and will always be a part of me, no matter where I go. In sickness and in health until death do us part. My longest relationship, my rock, my best friend.
She then listed off all nine names that her cat went by, including Bambi, Jami, Jamilia, Lynx, Jami Lynx, Jinx, Jimmy Jam, Poop, and Jammie.
Just days before Dobrev’s cat passed away, Nina had paid a sweet tribute to celebrate National Puppy Day.
“You hear people say ‘dogs are a man’s best friend.’ She might not be one, but she’s my best friend so today on #NationalPuppyDay I celebrate my main squeeze,”
“She may not bark, but she fits the criteria in every other way. She follows me everywhere I go, she loves me unconditionally, she sleeps with me (often on me), she licks me, she constantly begs for food, I pick up her poop. I love you, you furry little critter.”

Nina’s Take on Cats
Earlier this year, Dobrev in an interview with James Corden on “The Late Late Show With James Corden” shared some details about Poop.
She said that Poop would pee on her lap whenever she was upset with her. Since Dobrev travels a lot, there are sometimes when she leaves Poop at home, and this makes her pet feel abandoned.
In 2012, Dobrev was interviewed by NYLON and she had joked about being a cat in her past life. When asked if it’s okay to call her a cat lady, she said that she prefers to be called a cat woman.
“Because cat lady makes me sound 500 years old. But I love my furry friends. I even have a calendar for 2012. It’s called ‘My Pussies: A Hairy Love Story,’”
