Tim Allen was born Timothy Allen Dick on 13 June 1953 in Denver, Colorado, United States.

His ancestry includes English, Irish, German and Scottish origins.

His parents are Gerald M. Dick and Martha Katherine. His father was a real estate agent and his mother was a community service worker.

At the age of 11, He lost his father in an auto car accident and after two years, his mother married her high school friend and then they moved to Birmingham, Michigan.
