Tom Sizemore has a long history of controversy
Tom Sizemore has struggled with drug addiction throughout his life, and despite attempting to overcome his substance abuse, he experienced numerous arrests and legal problems due to drug possession and probation violations.
Following their collaboration on Heat, Robert De Niro, Sizemore’s childhood hero, confronted him about his drug addiction and even took him to rehab. However, Sizemore’s recovery was only brief, and he relapsed.
He has also been accused of domestic abuse, including towards his ex-wife Maevee Quinlin and former girlfriend Heidi Fleiss, for which he was convicted in 2003. In 2005, a sex tape featuring him was released, which he regarded as the latest in a series of unfortunate events.
As a result, his career suffered, and he appeared in a VH1 reality show, Shooting Sizemore, and later on Celebrity Rehab and Sober House.
In 2017, he was accused of molesting an 11-year-old girl, resulting in his dismissal from a film set, and a civil lawsuit was filed against him. He denied the allegations, and the lawsuit was dismissed in 2020, although the incident caused further damage to his reputation.
