Why was Zach Roloff hospitalized?

Tori Roloff, the wife of reality star Zach Roloff, has recently announced that her husband underwent emergency surgery.

The couple stars on TLC’s “Little People, Big World” and she shared photos of Zach in the hospital on her Instagram account.

She captioned:

“Not exactly how we saw our week going. Zachary had an emergency shunt revision this morning. It’s been a scary 72 hours but he is doing well and recovering!!”

According to Johns Hopkins Medicine’s site,

“A shunt is a hollow tube surgically placed in the brain (or occasionally in the spine) to help drain cerebrospinal fluid and redirect it to another location in the body where it can be reabsorbed.”

She thanked everyone for their support and praised her husband for handling the situation like a rockstar.

Zach is now home

A day later, she updated on her Instagram story that her husband was home.

She posted a picture of Zach with their children and captioned it:

“He is home! Thank you Jesus! And thank you to Everyone who prayed for us, and offered to bring us food, and supported us through this whole experience! Thank you endlessly to the staff at OHSU for helping @zoloffor through this entire experience. They were exceptional and we are so grateful to them!”

Zach Roloff and his family, who all have a form of dwarfism, are the subject of the TLC reality series “Little People, Big World,” which premiered in 2006.
