– 2001- Joined the non-profit organization, Stand Up For America after the September 11 attacks. The following year, she worked as a martial art instructor.

– 2003- Joined the Hawaii State Legislature as the Hawaii Army National Guard. Also, she volunteered for the Army National Guard service.

– 2007- Commissioned as the Second Lieutenant for the 29th Brigade Special Troops Battalion. 8 years later, she was promoted to Captain.

– Currently, she is serving as the Captain of the US Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command since June 2020.

Political Career

– 2002- Became the youngest legislator of Hawaii after defecting Republican Alfonso Jimenez.

– 2009- Tulsi Gabbard ran for the seat on the Honolulu City Council. She defeated Sensnita Moepono with a vote difference of 16%.

– 2012- Won the general election for the US representative defeating Republican Kawika Crowley.

– 2014- re-elected to the US House of Representatives for the second time defeating Crowley once more. Since then, she is serving as the US Representative for Hawaii’s 2nd Congressional District.

– In February 2019- launched her 2020 presidential campaign and became the first female combat veteran to run for the presidential post. Later, she dropped her presidential campaign supporting Joe Biden.

-Gabbard ended the presidential race in March 2020 to support Joe Biden, and on January 3, 2021, Kai Kahele took her place in the House of Representatives.
