Wesley was born on 13th November 1981 in Houston, Texas, U.S. His born name is Wesley Parish Hunt. He is the son of Dianne Johnson Hunt and Willie L. Hunt. His father had retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army.

Besides that, he has two siblings named, D’Hania Hunt and Wrendon Hunt. On the other hand, Hunt holds American nationality and belongs to a mixed ethnicity.

Regarding his background in education, he went to St. John’s School in 2000. He then went on to get a Bachelor of Science in leadership and management with a mechanical engineering concentration, and in 2004 he was commissioned in the American Army.

He continued to Cornell and graduated in 2016 with a Master of Industrial and Labor Relations degree.

Hunt was an Aviation Branch Officer in the Army and piloted the AH-64D Apache Longbow helicopter until his honorable release in 2012 with the rank of captain. During this time, he worked as a diplomatic liaison officer and was dispatched to Saudi Arabia twice and Iraq once.

In 2020, he campaigned for Texas’s 7th Congressional District. He received 61 percent of the votes in the Republican primaries. However, Lizzie Fletcher, the Democratic incumbent, received 50.8% of the vote in the main election, while Hunt very narrowly lost with 47.4%. Two years later, in 2022, Hunt defeated 10 other candidates in the GOP primary with about 63.8% of the vote.

On November 8, 2022, in the general election for U.S. House Texas District 38, which took place in a newly established west Houston district, he defeated Democrat Duncan Klussmann with 35.0% of the vote and independent Joel DeJean with 1.2%.

Hunt was the first representative in the history of the Congressional District. On January 3, 2023, Wesley was sworn in as a Republican to serve as the 38th congressional district congressman from Texas.

He also continues to investigate the immigration issue in the vicinity of the Texas border, seeing it as a danger to American security and sovereignty.  Additionally, Up until January 3, 2025, the Honorable Wesley Parish Hunt will represent Texas’ 38th District.
