What is the real name of these celebrities?
A good stage name is an important step to becoming successful. So, many of the people who are successful and in the spotlight were born with completely different names than we know them.
So, these are celebs who were born with a different name from their stage name.
1)Lady Gaga
Before becoming an international pop star, Gaga was born with the name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. Her stage name is inspired by the 1984 Queen song “Radio Ga Ga.”She also has many nicknames including Gagaloo, Loopy, Mother Monster, Rabbit Teeth, The Germ, Stefi, Little Mermaid, Sister Swine, etc.
2)Rihanna
Before we knew her as Rihanna or Riri, her actual name was Robyn Rihanna Fenty. She has used her middle as her stage name. But the people closest to the singer call her by her first name Robyn.
She once said, “I get kind of numb to hearing Rihanna, Rihanna, Rihanna, When I hear Robyn, I pay attention.”
3)Miley Cyrus
Miley’s real name is Destiny Hope Cyrus. Her stage name is developed out of her childhood nickname. Her family used to call her Smiley because she always had a grin on her face, which evolved into Miley. In 2008, the singer legally changed her name to Miley Rey Cyrus.
4)Gigi Hadid
Born with the name of Jelena Noura Hadid, but was called Gigi early on, but only by her close family.
In a 2015 interview, she said,
“My mom was called that as a kid by her mother when she was younger, but only around the house, “I was called that around the house when I was really young, kind of like how my mom was called it.”

5)Snoop Dogg
The rapper’s real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr. Thanks to his style his mother used to call him “Snoopy”. So, when Calvin needed an alias as any rapper does, he chose Snoop Doggy Dogg after a character from the famous cartoon.
6)Marilyn Monroe
The actress grew up being called Norma Jeane (she was born to the last name Mortenson, baptized as Baker, and later married into Dougherty). She was born with the name Norma Jeane Mortenson.
Her stage name was built to Norma Jeane by the last name “Monroe,” a name on her mother’s side of the family, while the studio exec handed her “Marilyn,” because she reminded him of the 1920s Broadway starlet Marilyn Miller.
7)The Weeknd
The singer was born Abel Makkonen Tesfaye. He chose his stage “The Weeknd” name after leaving home as a teenager.
He said, “We grabbed our mattresses from our parents threw them in our friends’ shitty van, and left one weekend and never came back home. It was gonna be the title of HOB [House of Balloons]. I hated my name at the time though so I tried it as a stage name. It sounded cool. I took out the “e” because there was already a Canadian band named The Weekend (copyright issues).”

8)Nicki Minaj
Nicki Minaj’s real name is Onika Tanya Maraj. The CEO of the Brooklyn music label, Dirty Money Entertainment convinced the eccentric rapper to change her exotic name to something shorter and simpler. Minaj didn’t like the name change at all.
She said, “One of the first production deals I signed, the guy wanted my name to be Minaj and I fought him tooth and nail. But he convinced me. I’ve always hated it,”
