Will Smith opened up about his mistakes throughout his life such as his controversial Oscars slap and very talked about marriage woes.

During his appearance at the Red Sea International Film Festival on Sunday, the actor said,

”I have made tons of mistakes.”
“Fame is a unique monster. You can’t get too excited when people say good things about you because then when people say bad things about you, you struggle and suffer more.”

The Oscar winner added,

“I have to be clear about who I am and what I am attempting to do in the world.”

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star also said that he doesn’t need the ”applause of others to stay focused on his mission.’‘

The Pursuit of Happyness star continued,

“And at the same time, I am deeply human. And I am in the process of perfecting my virtue.”

Smith’s surprising statement came just weeks after his estranged wife, 52, revealed in October that they have been living separately for seven years.

The shocking news came just ahead of the actress’s tell-all memoir Worthy, which has since revealed a more shocking slew of personal marital details including affairs, sex rooms, and open marriage.

Fans were left in shock after listening about their marital troubles, especially after Smith, 55, slapped comedian Chris Rock onstage at the 2022 Oscars after he made fun of Jada’s bald hair.

After that, the Academy put a ban on Smith from the Oscars and all of its events for a decade.

Will Smith talks about his new movie with fans

Despite a lot of ups and downs in his personal life, Will gave some exciting news to his fans regarding his career during the film fest. He revealed that he and Michael B. Jordan are teaming up to make I Am Legend 2.

He noted that he had already submitted the script to the Creed III star.

While Will’s character dies in the original ending of the film, Smith is alive in an alternate ending of the movie’s DVD.

He said,

“So we are going with the mythology of the DVD version where my character lived,”
“I can’t tell you any more.”
