The famed American actor, Zac Efron is out to destroy his own career. Recently, he has been showing bizarre behavior and his close friends are really worried about his mental health and drug issues.

American actor, Zac Efron has a past history of substance abuse. He was into heavy drug use and the problem had plagued him for many years.

In 2013, Zac required medical attention for his drug abuse problems. He was admitted into a rehab center to overcome it. The actor used to take both cocaine as well alcohol at that time. And the overuse had risked his career. After the rehabilitation, Zac spoke to The Hollywood Reporter. In 2014, he said:

“It’s a never-ending struggle,”
“I was drinking a lot, way too much.”

Zac had disclosed that he suffered a burnout phase after his High School Musical days. The fame was too much for him to handle and he was fatigued and physically and mentally tired. He stated:

“I had done films back-to-back-to-back. I was burnt out,”
“There was something lacking, some sort of hole that I couldn’t really fill up. I was just so deep into my work, it was really the only thing I had.”

Zac’s friends are concerned

And Zac seems to be slowly slipping into the same problem again. He is also going offtrack and off the rail. That has sparked concerns in his close inner circle. An insider revealed:

“There’s a growing concern about Zac’s erratic behavior, prompting worries he may be struggling with being in the spotlight once again,”

“The change in his demeanor backstage is noticeable, with the vibrant sparkle in his eyes replaced by a blank stare,”

Zac’s career and personal life

Zac, 36 started as a teen idol. He played the lovable character of Troy Bolton in the High School musical trilogy that was aired from 2006 to 2008. Simultaneously, he also did the musical movie Hairspray in 2007. He starred in 17 Again in 2008 which was a comedy film.

Moreover, he was one of the main actors in Baywatch in 2017. Zac played the role of Red Bundy in 2019’s Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. He was also cast in The Iron Claw as Kevin Von Erich in 2023.
