It is another sad ending to a marital relationship that started with great hopes and good intentions. American actor, Zach Gilford, 43 has filed for divorce from his wife of 12 years, American actress, Kiele Sanchez, 47.

American actor, Zach Gilford, 43 has filed for divorce from his wife, American actress, Kiele Sanchez, 47 this Friday, 18th April 2025, TMZ reports. TMZ has hold of the legal papers related to the divorce.

The reason that has been cited in the court documents is irreconcilable differences. The exact date of separation has not been noted in these papers.

It is not certain whether the couple had any prenuptial agreement in place. However, Zach has requested for joint physical and legal custody of the two children that he shares with Kiele. He is also ready to provide spousal support for Kiele after the divorce.

The two had until now kept their personal life under wraps. However, it seems that now this might not hold true. There has been no official announcement about the separation from either Zach or Kiele.

The relationship timeline of the couple

Zach and Kiele had met on the set of the ABC TV pilot project for the TV film, The Matadors. This was in 2010 and soon after the same year spring, they started dating.

Zach proposed to Kiele in November of 2011. The two exchanged wedding vows on 29th December 2012. Later, the two also got the chance to act together as a onscreen married couple in CBS’ Criminal Minds: Evolution (2022 to date) and in 2014 in the film The Purge: Anarchy.

Kiele was to give birth to their first child, a baby boy in November 2015. However, she had a late-term miscarriage in October 2015. Subsequently, they had another child, daughter Zeppelin Adele who was born by surrogacy in November 2017.

News reports add that they also have another baby, Revel who is now 4 years old.

Zach was dating American model and actress, Amber Lancaster, 44 for a year or two in 2008 and 2009. He also had romanced American actress and model, Aimee Teegarden, 35.

On the other hand, Kiele was the wife of American writer and director, Zach Helm, 50. The two had walked down the aisle together in 2001. They have no children together. But they divorced in 2008.

The two had purchased a house in Los Feliz-area in 2006 for USD 2.775 million. It was a restored Mediterranean mansion with original tile work and stenciled beam ceilings. Its area was around 4k sq. feet. The house has a living room with a fireplace, a proper dining room, kitchen, four bedrooms and three bathrooms.

In 2012, they had put this house up for sale at asking price of USD 1.849 million. The listing agents were Jennifer Pinckert and Scott Carmody of Partners Trust.

Later, Zach started a relationship with American actress, Lucy Liu, 56 in 2002. They also got engaged in 2004. However, after five months, the engagement was called off.
