Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott took a milestone step in their relationship.

The 43-year-old New Girl alum took to Instagram on Monday, August 14, to share the happy news that she and Jonathan have committed to each other after four years of dating.

She shared a sweet sweet selfie of the two of them posing in front of the rugged Scottish scenery at the foot of a stone castle.

They both are smiling in the photo while Deschanel proudly showed off her engagement ring.

Similarly, she captioned the post simply writing,

“Forever starts now!!!”

According to PEOPLE, the Property Brothers host popped the question to Zooey over the weekend during a family trip to Scotland.

The Physical actress is already a parent to two children a daughter Elsie Otter, 8, and son Charlie Wolf, 6, who also played a vital role in the special moment.

How long have Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott been together?

Zooey and Jonathan first met on the set of Carpool Karaoke in 2019 and since they were inseparable from each other.

The pair hit it off instantly after Deschanel split from her estranged husband of four years, Jacob Pechenik.

In September 2019, the pair were first spotted holding hands while out for a dinner date and confirmed their relationship that same month.

The lovebird attended a taping of Dancing with the Stars where they shared a passionate kiss while sitting front row.

In October, the couple went Instagram official with their relationship sharing pictures from their double date at Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights along with Drew and Linda.

The couple since didn’t shy to flaunt their romance and often shared their beautiful moment on social media.

In June 2020, they also bought a home together, a five-bedroom dream home. Zooey Deschanel described the home recalling,

Jonathan, on the other hand, has previously married a flight coordinator, Kelsy Ully. They wed in 2007 and filed for divorce in 2010.
