Álvaro Morata began his football career with the Spanish professional football club, Getafe CF. After two years at the club, he signed for Real Madrid in 2008.

Morata scored the first hat-trick of his career, in a 7–1 victory against Deportivo de La Coruña B on 13 February 2011.
