His father, Paul Dunn, and mother, Enid Dunn are also actors by profession.

He has an elder brother, Andrew Cotton. Andrew is a social activist and works for the trusts that include Terrence Higgins and The Albert Kennedy Trust. Also, he advocates for LGBT rights too.
