Dermot O’Leary married his longtime girlfriend and says he would love to have children – but his wife is too busy!!!

Dermot O’Leary married Dee Koppang on September 14, 2012, in an intimate ceremony who was his long-time girlfriend.
They tied the knot at St Mary’s Church in Chiddingstone in front of their family and close friends.
The pair used to worship at the same church for the past six months before their wedding.

Speaking ahead of the wedding, Dermot – who has been with Dee for 10 years – said they were the perfect couple because they were so “relaxed” together.

He said:

“Wedding plans are going well and engaged life is brilliant. We lived together for seven years and been going out for 10 years so we are settled down already. There’s no sort of raucous bachelor days to put behind me when we get married. I love my girlfriend and the woman that will be my wife and we are really relaxed with each other.”

Comedian and actor James Corden along with Fellow TV star Fearne Cotton, whose metallic dress hid her baby bump. And also Corden arrived with his fiancée Julia Carey.

Also in attendance were Chris O’Dowd and his wife Dawn Porter, who looked chic in a tuxedo-style dress. TV presenter Dawn admitted she was a little nervous about her outfit. She tweeted saying ‘Going to a very special wedding today. A very special wedding indeed!’

Dermot lives a busy life with his wife. They barely have time to enjoy romantic dates like most married couples do. In January 2015, Dermot revealed that he has plans to have children but has to wait for his wife to agree to conceive a baby.

He explained-

“I definitely want kids, but I’ve got a very busy wife with a very busy life. It’s not fair for me to say: I want kids now, I do want kids with my wife, but I want them when we both think it’s the right thing to happen.”

The TV star decided to open up about his family life while speaking to Fabulous magazine and admitted that while he knows he and his wife, Dee, do see children in their future, they are in no rush to take the jump just yet.
Dermot and Dee wed in 2012, having dated for ten years, and according to Dermot while he knows he wants to be a dad someday, it needs to happen when both he and his wife are ready for it.

Dermot said:

“I definitely want kids. But I’ve got a very wife with a very busy life.”

Speaking candidly on the sensitive topic, the 41-year-old presenter said:

“I do want kids with my wife, but I want them when we both think it’s the right thing to happen. It’s not fair for me to say: “I want kids now.”

Both Dee (who works as a film producer) and Dermot have an overflowing work and social calendar which meant that spending their second wedding anniversary together as a couple just wasn’t possible.

Dermot was very matter-of-fact about this and admitted that days would pass before he and his wife get to spend quality time with each other, saying:

“Circumstance and life takes over and, before you know it, you haven’t seen each properly for a week or two.”
