Talking about the career journey of Damon Stoudamire, he started playing basketball professionally after being selected by Toronto Raptors in the 1995 NBA draft.

He ranked second in scoring among all in his rookie period during the 1995-96 season.

In 1996, he has won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award. On 13 February 1998, he was traded to Portland Trail Blazers where he shot an NBA record of 21 3-points scorings 5 of them.

On 5 August 2005, he signed a four-year contract with Memphis Grizzlies replacing Jason Williams. He missed most of his matches while playing for Grizzlies due to injuries he suffered in games.

On 3 February 2008, he signed with San Antonio Spurs and after playing for Spurs he retired from NBA as a player.

After onwards, he started appearing as a director of player development for Rice University in December 2008. In February 2009, he became the coaching staff for the Grizzlies and then joined the University of Memphis Tigers men’s basketball team in May 2011.

In May 2013, he left Memphis Tigers in order to join Arizona Wildcats but he rejoined Memphis Tigers in May 2015. In March 2016, Pacific Tigers men’s basketball team acquired him as a head coach and since then he is with the team.
