Their first big-time production was for artist Tyrese’s I Like Them Girls. Since then they have gone on to produce for a lot of big names in the music industry such as Justin Timberlake, Lionel Richie, Chris Brown to name a few. They produced beats and music for mainly pop and R&B singers.

The duo has also worked together to compile the soundtracks in various popular movies such as DreamGirls and Straight Outta Compton. Damon has shared Black Reel Awards for the best song The Living Proof with its performers and writers as well as his partner Mason and has won another Black Reel Award for best original score for Dreamgirls.

Damon Thomas has also been nominated for the Golden Globes once and twice for the Grammys.

Damon Thomas has faced a lot of rumors and controversies, especially in regards to his marriage with Kim Kardashian West, which lasted form 2001 to 2004. Kim has said in her TV show that Damon was very controlling in their relationship and didn’t even allow her to go out of the house without his permission and even convinced young Kim to drop out of college and quit her job at the time. She has also claimed that Damon was physically abusive at times. These matters came into the public eye after he and Kim’s divorce papers were leaked in 2010. The paper showed Kim’s cited claims that Damon physically and emotionally abused her in the marriage.

Damon has totally denied all the accusations of physical abuse and has shared his side of the story as well. He has said that he was the one who filed for divorce after finding out that Kim was cheating on him. He also claimed that Kim made up the stories of his physical and emotional abuse in order to validate herself in the media and because of her obsession with fame.
