Dolly Parton denies cheating on her longtime husband

Dolly Parton is slamming rumors that she had multiple affairs with her male co-stars for her long career.

The legendary singer, 77, opened up about the rumors in a new interview with the online publication Saga Exceptional, after being asked about the wildest things she’s ever heard about herself.

The Jolene hitmaker started,

“I’ve heard so many crazy rumors about me through the years,”
“The worst stories were ones that my back was broke because my boobs were so heavy! And they’ve had me having an affair with everybody I’ve ever worked with,”

The 9 to 5 singer has been married to her longtime love Carl Dean since 1966. Parton’s husband is very private and rarely appears in public.

Reports suggested that the country star was linked to both Sylvester Stallone and Burt Reynolds in the 80s.

Jolene and the Rocky star appeared in the 1984 film Rhinestone. With Reynolds she starred in 1982’s The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.

She also spoke about her husband’s decision of not having kids and she certainly doesn’t regret that.

Dolly said,

“I haven’t missed [having kids] like I thought I might,”

The singer went on,

“When you’re a young couple, you think you’re going to have kids, but it just wasn’t one of those burning things for me.”
“I had my career and my music and I was traveling,”
“If I’d had kids, I’d have stayed home with them, I’m sure, and worried myself to death about them.”

The 11-time Grammy winner confessed,

“With everything that’s going on, I’d hate to be bringing a child into this world right now.”

Parton talks about her retirement plans

Parton started her music career in the 1960s as a songwriter for other artists before releasing her first music album.

The Tennessee native said that she doesn’t plan to retire anytime soon.

In July, she appeared on the Greatest Hits Radio show where she said that she would rather “drop dead in the middle of a song onstage” than take a step back from singing.

She joked,

“That’s how I hope to go. Of course, we don’t have much of a choice in that,”
“As long as I’m able to work, as long as my health is good and my husband is good. I mean, the only way that I would ever slow down or stop would be for that reason,”

Parton concluded,

“But in the meantime, I’m gonna make hay while the sun shines.”

Fans talked about Parton’s decision to unretire from her career with one writing,

”She’s an entertainer. If you want to talk about her, talk about that. Like the fact that she’s such a prolific songwriter. Or that she uses her fame to support so many charities and devotes her time as well as her money.”

Another wrote,
