1992-2005

In 1992, Doug Christie started his career with the professional basketball team, Seattle SuperSonics. 

At the time, Seattle SuperSonics was drafted as the 17th selection at the 1992 NBA Draft.

Despite that, he never played for the team due to contract difficulties. Later, in 1994, Seattle traded him to the Los Angeles Lakers. 

The following year, he was traded to New York Knicks. He was associated with the team for two years.

However, the number of games that he played for the team was very less.

In the mid-season of 1996, he was traded to the team, Toronto Raptors. In the season, the points per game that she obtained was 14.5.

The Next year, he reached his career peak with the points per game, 16.5.

He played for the Raptors for four years till 2000. At the end of 2000, he was traded to Sacramento Kings in exchange for Corliss Williamson.

For the Kings, he played for 5 seasons till 2005. During this time interval, he has established himself as one of the best 3-pt shooters of the time.

At the time, he used to be the best shooting guard that the Kings had. Also, he received the NBA All-Defensive Second Team Award three times.

In 2005, the team traded him to Orlando Magic for Cuttino Mobley and Michael Bradley.

2005-Present

Doug was unhappy with the trade and only played a few games for the Magic. Later, on the 11th of August 2005, he was released from the team due to ankle surgery.

After that, he signed a one-year contract with Dallas Mavericks. However, on the 25th of November 2005, he left the team due to the slow healing process of his ankle.

After a long break, he wanted to make a comeback in the game. For that, he signed a 10-day contract with the Los Angeles Clippers.

After that, he parted ways with the team and resumed his career as a commentator.

Currently, he works for the regional sports network, NBC Sports California. As of now, he commentates on the Sacramento Kings.
