Erika Jayne opens up about her divorce from Tom Girardi. On 16th June 2021, in an episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Jayne prepared herself for the unavoidable discussion with her castmates. She said,

“There’s so many layers to this divorce. It’s so f–king complicated. It’s very difficult to explain.”

She had broken the news of her divorce with Tom to her ladies over a text where she wrote,

“Ladies, I truly consider you my close friends and this is why I’m reaching out to tell you that I filed for divorce this morning. Thank you for supporting me. This will be tough.”

There is a documentary The Housewife and the Hustler about her and Tom’s legal drama. After the documentary premiered, her attorneys dropped her. Law firm Dinsmore & Shohl filed to withdraw as Jayne’s counsel in Girardi’s ongoing bankruptcy case on 15th June 2021.

The reason for them dropping her was that the relationship of trust and confidence broke down. Likewise, US Bankruptcy Judge Barry Russell claimed,

“There has been a fundamental and material breakdown in the relationship between the Firm and Ms. Girardi. In my good faith and judgement, the attorney-client relationship has been irreparably damaged and it is no longer possible to carry on with the necessary degree of trust and confidence which is foundational to that relationship.”
