Who is Heechul?

Heechul aka Kim Hee-chul, is a well-known South Korean singer-songwriter, actor, and presenter. He has been part of the subgroup Super Junior-T, Universe Cowards, Woojoo jjokkomi as well as the South Korean boy band Super Junior.

Previously, Kim was also a member of, Kim Heechul & Kim Jungmo, the disbanded pop rock.

The South Korean singer was born on July 10, 1983, in Ucheon-myeon, Hoengseong-gun, South Korea. As of 2023, he is 40 years old and holds South Korean nationality.

Likewise, he maintains Asian ethnicity, and according to the astrologers, his birth sign is Cancer.

He was born to his South-Korean parents, and his family member includes his parents and an older sister named, Kim Hee-jin.

Education

As per Heechul’s academics, in 2004, he graduated from Sangji Youngsoe College with a bachelor’s degree in English tourism translation.

Later, he earned a bachelor’s degree in informatics in 2009 from Sangji University through Bachelor’s Degree Examination for Self-Education.

In the year 2002, Heechul went to the audition for SM Entertainment, and by moving to Seoul. Unfortunately, he missed the audition, but still got performed due to his looks.

During the audition, he sang the Korean national anthem, which was able to win the hearts of judges, and in November 2002 he signed a contract with SM Entertainment.

Initially, Heechul was placed in a four-member group, Four Season, but the project was dropped in early 2003.

In 2005, he made his acting debut by appearing in the teen drama, Sharp with the co-stars Go Ara and Kibum and in the show, Heroine6. Furthermore, he appeared in a minor role in the KBS2 series, Loveholic.

On November 6, 2005, he joined the project group, Super Junior 05, and performed their first single, Twins (Knock Out).  A month later their debut album, SuperJunior05 (Twins), was released on December 5, 2005.

Following Heechul’s career, he landed in the TV series, Rainbow Romance, and a supporting role in the 2006 series, Bad Family and the 2007 Golden Bride.

Heechul made his Chinese career debut, by appearing in a supporting role in the drama, Melody of Youth. From September 1, 2011, to August 30, 2023, he carried out his mandatory military service.

Super Junior released their fifth Japanese single, Blue World on December 11, 2013. In the year 2015, he was the MC and cast member of the programs like A Style For You, MAPS, Knowing Bros, Wednesday Food Talk, and With You All The Way.

On April 24, 2019, he released his debut solo single, Old Movie. During the 13th SBS Entertainment Awards, he performed Delicious Rendezvous, and My Little Old Boy and earned Excellence award.

Moreover, he was the main host of Long Live Independence, Falling for Korea Transnational Couples, and Friends.
