Hugh Jackman and Deborra Le Furness, who had one of the longest-lasting marriages in Hollywood, called it quits after 27 years of marriage.

The couple announced their split in a joint statement to People magazine on Friday. It read,

“We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,”
“Our journey now is shifting, and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.”

The Australian actors continued,

“Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love and kindness.”
“We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.”

They signed Deb and Hugh Jackman and concluded their statement,

“This is the sole statement either of us will make.”

Jackman and Furness’s reps declined to comment further on the couple’s split.

Hugh, 54, and Deborra, 67, who both hail from Australia, met on the Australian TV series Correlli set in 1995. Despite having a huge age gap, the couple tied the knot in 1996. It adopted two kids, Oscar Maximilian Jackman, 23, and Eliot Jackman, 18, after having difficulties to conceive naturally and via IVF.

The X-Men star told People in 2017,

Deborra and Hugh’s marriage was one of the longest-lasting and most successful marriages in Hollywood. Fans often praised the couple for withstanding the test of time in the showbiz industry.

Nobody suspected the couple’s marriage to end since they had a great relationship and they enjoyed spending a lot of time together. They were frequently spotted enjoying riding around NYC in scooters and going for a swim in the Hamptons.
