Did Jennifer Lawrence break Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus’ marriage?

Jennifer Lawrence is clearing the rumors that she was the reason why Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus‘ relationship ended so terribly.

While appearing on Monday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Lawrence said that she never had an affair with her Hunger Games co-star.

When asked about the speculation that Hemsworth, 33, cheated on his then-wife Miley, 30, with her, Lawrence revealed that she would love to respond to all the false accusations.

The 32-year-old actress said,

“Not true,”
“Total rumor.”

However, the actress did not deny that she and Liam did share a smooch offscreen, once, and it was years after the pair ended their relationship.

The No Hard Feelings actress who is now happily married to Cooke Marooney, said, ”I just assume that was, like, a coincidence.” She then asked the audience whether they were satisfied with her answer.

Miley and Liam started dating in 2009 after co-starring in The Last Song. They were on and off for almost a decade until their wedding in 2018.

In August of the following year, just a few months after marriage, the Flowers singer announced that she and Hemsworth were separating. Just 11 days later, the Australian actor filed for divorce.

Their divorce was finalized in January 2020. The Paranoia actor has since been dating model Gabriella Brooks.

Miley, for her part, is currently dating musician Maxx Morando.

Fans suspected Miley’s new song was an attack on Jennifer

When Miley released her chart-topper Flowers in January, many suspected that the song was about the couple’s past romance which she strictly denied in an interview with British Vogue.

Many suspected that Cyrus shaded Lawrence in the video by wearing a gold dress similar to what the actress wore during her Hunger Games premiere.

One fan wrote,

Another wrote,

Referring to the gold dresses, another commented,

The Wrecking Ball singer said,

“I wrote it in a really different way. The chorus was originally … like, ‘Sure, I can be my own lover, but you’re so much better.’”

Lawrence, for her part, started dating art gallery director, Cooke Maroney in 2018.

The couple got engaged in February 2019 and married that October in Rhode Island and are proud parents of son, Cy.
