Joshua Jackson and Lupita Nyong’o confirmed they are a couple after they took a stroll holding hands on Tuesday.

Photos obtained by TMZ showed that the Black Panther actress and the Dawson’s Creek alum showed them walking hand-in-hand in Joshua Tree, California.

The lovebirds lovingly looked at each other as they smiled and chatted on their walk.

The Oscar-winning actress, 40, dressed casually in a long-sleeved white shirt with It’s OKAY TO CRY written across it, yellow pants, and hiking boots.

Jackson, 45, for his part, dressed down for the day, wearing a long-sleeved shirt, brown pants, white sneakers and a blue beanie.

Lupita and Joshua’s surprise stroll came just a month after they attended a concert together after breaking with their respective partners, Selema Masekela and Jodie Turner-Smith.

On October 18, the Us star and the Dr. Death actor were snapped sitting next to each other at Janelle Monáe’s The Age of Pleasure tour stop at the YouTuber Theater in Inglewood, California.

The lovebirds chatted, smiled, and danced happily alongside their friends.

TMZ, however, noted at the time that there was no romantic connection between them at the time.

Fans commented on the new couple’s romance, with one writing,

”Uh…she looks almost exactly like his ex! That would set off alarm bells in my head if I were her!! I wish her the best!”

Another wrote,

”She’s so pretty…good luck.”

A look at Lupita and Joshua’s previous relationships

The next day, Nyong’o announced via Instagram that she and Masekela, 52, were no longer together. She said at the time that there was some deception in their 10-month relationship.

The actress wrote at the time,

“At this moment, it is necessary for me to share a personal truth and publicly dissociate myself from someone I can no longer trust…”
“I find myself in a season of heartbreak because of a love suddenly and devastatingly extinguished by deception. I am tempted to run into the shadows and hide, only to return to the light when I have regained my strength enough for me to say, ‘Whatever, my life is better this way.’”

Jackson, for his part, is currently going through a tough split from his ex-wife Turner-Smith. She filed for divorce from the actor in November after four years of marriage.

Court documents showed that the Queen & Slim actress, 37, cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split. She also asked for the custody of their 3-year-old daughter, Janie.

Turner-Smith listed the date of separation as Sept. 13, 2023.

Sources claimed that Jackson was blindsided by his wife’s divorce and didn’t think that their marital issues would lead them to split.

Other sources claimed that the two were in a very unhealthy marriage.

The insider told People,

“They are on very different paths in life,”
“Jodie loves being a mom. She also loves working.”

They added,

“It turned into an unhealthy marriage that made her unhappy. They will co-parent their daughter. They want her to continue to thrive.”
