She is the daughter of Lillian Hacker (mother) and John M. Batten (father). Her late father, John was a United Airlines Offical. Her parents parted ways via divorce when she was too young. Later, her mother, Lillian remarried Bernard Barcio.

Moving towards her academics, she completed her High School education at Bishop Chatard High School as valedictorian. Later, she graduated from Bulter University with a major in education and a minor in arts.
