Kimberly was born on 15 October 1969 in Cornelia, Georgia, USA to Barbara Bramlett. Her mother, Barbara had 30 years of teaching experience in Habersham County.
She has a sister, Paula James.

The band
Kimberly is one of the founding members of the country music band Little Big Town. She found the band along with longtime friend and fellow vocalist Karen Fairchild in the late 90s. Later Jimi Westbrook and Phillip Sweet joined the band and they all became bandmates.
The little big town was signed by Mercury Records in 1999 but they could not produce any singles or albums. Eventually, the level dropped the band.
In 2002, their luck turned around when they were signed on with Sony Music’s Monument Records. Soon they released the first album which included singles “Don’t Waste My Time,” and “Everything Changes”. The songs climbed high on the music billboards.
Friendship with Karen
Kimberly and Karen met when they were students at Samford University, Alabama. They were a part of the school’s reputed Capella group.
After graduation, the two friends remained together as they both had the same dream to become famous singers and they also got along quite well.
Kimberly and Karen moved to Nashville, Tennessee in hopes to become individual vocalists. To support her living, Kimberly worked as a waitress in between auditions for record labels.
Awards
Her song ‘Girl Crush’ and album Pain Killer’ received nominations for best album and best song in the country music category in the 58th Annual Grammy Awards, 2016.
The band won Vocal Group of the Year at the 2014 CMA Awards. The group had previously won a Grammy back in 2013 with their single ‘Pontoon’.
Kimberly is a Chef as well
Apart from being an international sensation, Kimberly is also a Chef! The 48-year-old lady just loves to cook. And yes her creative desserts are mouthwatering.
She has taken a step further in cooking. She has her own cooking show! ‘Kimberly’s Simply Southern’ at the Great American Country channel in September 2012 was hosted by her.
Following her passion for cooking healthy and delicious food, she has published a cookbook titled ‘OH GUSSIE! Cooking and Visiting in Kimberly’s Southern Kitchen’.
Marriages and divorce
Information about her previous boyfriends is not available. But it is known she had been married to Steven Rhoades. The two vowed to stay together but under circumstances of life and death, this was not possible. Steven died of a heart attack on 6 April 2005.
Soon after the sad incident, she found love again. She dated Stephen Schlapman and is now married to him. They got married on November 28, 2006.
A mother
Kimberly is also a mother of 2 daughters. She has named her daughters Daisy Pear and Dolly Grace. Daisy Pearl is her biological daughter with husband Stephen Schlapman and was born on July 27, 2007, while the couple had adopted Dolly Grace, in January 2017.
