Lily-Rose Depp claps back at haters who believe she got fame because of her famous surname.

The daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis addressed the repo claims while appearing on the cover of Elle magazine recently.

While she admitted being a star kid has its perks, she also opened up about the challenges of growing up in the public eye.

The 23-year-old Chanel muse said:

‘Nothing is going to get you the part except for being right for the part’.

The actress who is all set to appear on HBO’s upcoming series The Idol admitted that being the daughter of two celebrities helped her get her foot in the door but she still has to work hard every day.

Lily, who wowed in a series of fashionable looks, told the publication :

‘The internet seems to care a lot about that kind of stuff.
‘People are going to have preconceived ideas about you or how you got there, and I can definitely say that nothing is going to get you the part except for being right for the part.”

The A Faithful Man actress continued:

‘The internet cares a lot more about who your family is than the people who are casting you in things. Maybe you get your foot in the door, but you still just have your foot in the door. There’s a lot of work that comes after that.’

The young actress also confessed that her parents tried to protect her and her younger brother Jack from fame as much as possible.

The model flashed her incredible physique for the glossy magazine looks. For the cover look, Depp wore a black and white checked top and gold jacket as she stared sharply at the camera.

Lily also subtly addressed her father’s legal case against Amber Heard

Somewhere in the interview, Rose also revealed how she’s chosen to keep quiet on her father’s recent legal case.

Johhny had a high-profile case earlier this year, where he sued his former wife Amber Heard for a 2018 op-ed where she claimed she was a victim of domestic violence.

Opening up about the case for the first time, Lily said:

‘When it’s something that’s so private and so personal that all of a sudden becomes not so personal…I feel really entitled to my secret garden of thoughts.

‘I also think that I’m not here to answer for anybody, and I feel like for a lot of my career, people have really wanted to define me by the men in my life, whether that’s my family members or my boyfriends, whatever.
‘And I’m really ready to be defined for the things that I put out there.’

Lily started her acting career with a small role in the horror-comedy movie named Tusk which was released in 2014. Since then she went on to do many projects like The Dancer (2016) and Planetarium (2016), where she worked alongside Natalie Portman.

Last year alone, the actress appeared in four films: Crisis, Voyager, Silent Night, and Wolf.

She was also very famous for her on/off romance with Hollywood heartthrob Timothee Chalamet. The couple dated for some time but parted ways last year. She also had flings with Austin Butler and Ash Stymest.

Lily is now dating French singer Yassine Stein.
