In the year 1996, she was reassigned back to the United States to report from NBC’s Chicago Bureau.

After a year, she was again promoted to anchor of NBC News at Sunshine and moved to New York. In 1999, she was assigned by Fox Channel to host its afternoon newscast.

Three years later in 2002, Fox News Channel started a news program with a live audience named Dayside with Linda Vester. She continued working in this position for his program until July 2005, when she was pregnant with her second child.
