Celebrity chef Michael Chiarello is no longer alive among us. The former Food Network star took his last breath on Friday, October 6, at the Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa, Calif.

He was just 61. Michael was hospitalized last week after an acute allergic reaction caused anaphylactic shock.

His death was confirmed by his company Gruppo Chiarello on behalf of his family with a heartbreaking statement that reads,

“We deeply mourn the loss of our beloved patriarch Michael, His culinary brilliance, boundless creativity, and unwavering commitment to family were at the core of his being. He brought people together through the joy of shared meals, fostering lasting memories around the table.”

He is survived by four children a son Aidan, 18, and three daughters, Margaux, Felicia, and Giana.

Who was Michael Chiarello?

Michael Chiarello was an American celebrity chef, restaurateur, and television personality. He rose to prominence as a host of the Food Network’s cooking show, Easy Entertaining with Michael Chiarello.

Besides, he hosted NapaStyle on Fine Living Network. He also served as a judge on Bravo’s “Top Chef” and “Top Chef Masters”.

Chiarello owned several restaurants a tapas restaurant named Coqueta located in Napa Valley, California, and an Italian restaurant named Bottega in San Francisco, California.

He was also the owner of a winery called Chiarello Family Vineyards, located in Yountville, CA.

Michael Chiarello was a widower

Michael had married twice throughout his life. He was married to Eillen Marie Gordon in 2003. The two shared a son together named Aidan, born in 2005.

However, their marriage didn’t last long, and they divorced in 2019 after sixteen years of marriage. He was also a father to three daughters Margaux, Felicia, and Giana from his previous relationship.

In 2016, Michaell faced two lawsuits alleging sexual harassment and wage theft. His two former Coqueta employees filed lawsuits alleging a work environment that was hostile and sexually charged.

However, the allegation was found baseless, and they settled the lawsuit in 2017.
