Michael Christopher White, simply known as Mike White is an American writer, actor, and producer. He is an award-winning writer and producer popular for Chuck & Buck, The Good Girl, and School of Rock.

Mike was born on June 28, 1970, in Pasadena, California. Currently, he is 49 years old. He is the son of Lyla Lee and James Melville White. His mother is a fundraising executive and his father is a former speechwriter and ghostwriter. Moreover, he has a sister named Erinn White. He is of American nationality. However, his ethnicity remains unknown.

White attended Polytechnic School. Moreover, he graduated from Wesleyan University.

White was the writer and producer on Dawson’s Creek and Freaks and Geeks. Similarly, he wrote and acted in the movies Chuck & Buck, The Good Girl, Orange County, School of Rock, and Nacho Libre. Furthermore, he also had a role in The Stepford Wives and the 2008 movie Smother. In addition, in an interview, Jeff Bridges called Mike’s performance in Chuck and Buck ‘the performance of the decade’.

Mike White likes to collaborate with actor-writer Jack Black on movies. Together, they also formed their own production company, Black and White. However, it was closed in 2006. Mike is not a fan of classic rock. However,  he wrote School of Rock only so Black could perform his favorite rock music.

The movie was a super hit. Mike’s directorial debut came in Year of the Dog in 2007. Furthermore, he was a member of the US Dramatic Jury at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival.

In addition, Mike White wrote all the episodes of Enlightened, an American comedy series that premiered on HBO on October 10, 2011. Moreover, he co-wrote the screenplay for the computer-animated movie titled The Emoji Movie which was released in 2017.
