Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, took into custody on suspicion of DUI on Saturday night, May 29.

He has been married to Nancy since 1963 and together shared five children.

Mr. Pelosie was arrested at around 11:44 p.m. The incident happened in their home state of California, Pelosi was involved in a collision of his vehicle into another motorist at an intersection after allegedly drunk and driving. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 82-years old, Pelosi was driving a 2021 Porsche.

He was then hit by a 2014 Jeep while his car tried to cross a state road in Napa Country. Fortunately, there were no injuries in the crash, and Pelosi was pinpointed as being at fault in the crash.

Troopers were called to the scene at around 10:30 after the incident happened according to the Napa Country Criminal Justice Network’s public booking report.

Similarly, Pelosi had a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or higher.

The night when the incident happened Mr. Pelosi was attending a dinner party at the home of friends in Oakville. According to a statement from a representative for Pelosi, he left that party at around 10:15 to drive home.

However, the incident happened just a short distance away from the party place. He was fully cooperative with authorities. Pelosi was then released on Sunday morning, May 30. His bail was set at around $5,000.
