Prince Andrew consoles his daughter Princess Eugenie at Balmoral
Princess Eugenie is mourning the loss of her grandmother, the Queen who died at the age of 96 at Balmoral.
The princess, along with many of her family members traveled to Balmoral Castle after the Queen’s passing on Thursday.
After a church service at Crathie Kirk at Balmoral Estate, Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, Prince Andrew, The Earl and Countess of Wessex, Lady Louise, Peter Philips, and Zara Tindall were viewing the floral tributes paid by the public at the gates of the castle for the Queen.
While reading one of the messages left for her beloved granny, Eugenie broke down. Her father, Andrew, who was by her side placed an arm around her. The father-daughter duo hugged for a while as they continued reading the messages.
One user on Twitter wrote:
“Prince Andrew comforting Princess Eugenie. Its very emotional for all of them. I could see Zara close to tears as she was reading some of the cards and Sophie holding hands with Lady Louise. So so sad,”
But it didn’t go all too well for some of the netizens who raised eyebrows after Andrew’s hand slipped lower down his daughter’s back.
One user who found it strange wrote:

The reason why Andrew is no more a working royal
Before attending the events at Balmoral, Andrew has faced a hard year after a woman named Virginia Giuffre filed a sexual assault lawsuit against him in August 2021. Though the prince denied any wrongdoing, the public believed that it was not entirely true.
After enough controversy, Buckingham Palace in January 2022 announced that the Queen’s third child had been stripped off his military honors and royal patronages. It ultimately caused him to lose his HRH title.
Since the case, Andrew has made only 3 public appearances. The first one was in March when he attended the memorial service of his late father Prince Philips. He faced much criticism for entering in an important position on the arm of the queen.
The second time he was seen in public was the appearance at Balmoral Castle after the death of her Majesty.
His last appearance was at Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh where the Queen’s coffin was laid on Sunday.
Despite being stripped of his royal titles, the Prince is likely to play an important role in the state funeral plans for his mother which will take place on Monday, September 19th at Westminster Abbey.
