Kensington Palace released a new portrait of the young prince to commemorate the occasion.
Photographer Millie Pilkington took the snap on the grounds of the Windsor.

Prince George celebrates his 10th birthday

Prince George now hits double digits.

The prince turned 10 on July 22. Kensington Palace released a new portrait of the young prince to celebrate the day.

The photo shows the eldest son of Prince William and Princess Catherine flashing a huge grin at the camera while sitting on the concrete steps of Windsor.

The handsome prince looked all grown up in a blue shirt and teal trousers which he paired with chocolate brown dress shoes.

The palace announced that the photo was taken earlier this month by photographer Millie Pilkington who also took most recent birthday snaps of George’s siblings Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.

Princess Catherine who has taken many birthday snaps of her children over the years, gave birth to George in July 2013.

In May 2015, George had a sibling when the then-Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed their second child, daughter Charlotte. They had their third child, son Louis in April 2018.

George’s last birthday snap was in July 2022 when he smiles posing in a blue shirt.

After turning 9, the future monarch had a life-changing year.

The prince changed schools from Thomas’s Battersea to Lambrook School in August 2022. The following month, his great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II died at age 96.

George and his younger sister Charlotte, 8, were present at the Queen’s funeral in September 2022 while their brother Louis, 5, remained at home.

Olympian Mark Tewksbury told People at the time that the royal kids were very well-behaved.

Royal fans wished George on his birthday

The following year in April, news broke that Prince George would have a special role in his grandfather King Charles III‘s coronation.

He acted as one of the King’s four Pages of Honor in the historic ceremony in May.

After the tiring event, George and his two siblings had a blast at the coronation concert where Lionel Richie and Katy Perry performed.

Royal fans commented on the royal’s birthday portrait and wished him a happy birthday.

One fan wrote,

Another wrote,
