As Philippe Coutinho signed for Barcelona, Liverpool is eyeing for a brilliant replacement for the Brazilian international. Currently, Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp is ready to sign the Leicester City’s winger, Riyad Mahrez. Now, Liverpool is preparing to launch a £50 million bid for the Algerian international. Mahrez has won the English Premier League title with Leicester City in the 2015-16 season and even became PFA Players of the Year. In the previous season, the Algerian winger has also added African Player of the Year award in his trophy cabinet.
Liverpool has recently landed the Dutch international Virgil van Dijk for the record-breaking £75 million. Now, they are keen to sign Leicester goal scorer to fill the space of their recently departed Philippe Coutinho. Since the start of the 2015-16 season, Mahrez has smashed 30 goals and provided 21 assists. Currently, Mahrez has scored eight goals and assisted eight times for his side.

Mohamed Salah has won the African Player of the Year award as he energized his country after securing a spot in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. So far, the Egypt international has started his campaign brilliantly for the English side, Liverpool. Salah won the award ahead of his Liverpool team-mate Sadio Mané of Senegal and the Borussia Dortmund and Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. As of now, the Liverpool goal machine has cracked 17 goals in 21 league games and 23 in 29 in all competitions.
After winning the award, the 25-year-old said,
“It was very difficult to explain that moment to qualify for the World Cup after 28 years. And to have a great season with the clubs, with Roma and Liverpool. This award is a big award for me, it’s a special moment for me in my career.”
