Stan Lee was an American comic book writer, editor, publisher, media producer. Likewise, he is also a television host, actor, and former president and chairman of Marvel Comics. In 2008, he received the National medal of arts.

Stan Lee died at the age of 95, on 12th November 2018. He lived his life to the fullest and his health was degrading because of his age for many years. His death was revealed by his daughter, J.C. Lee’s attorney, Kirk Schenck.

Lee was born on December 28, 1922, in New York City, New York, USA. His nationality was American and his ethnicity was Romanian Jewish.

His birth name was Stanley Martin Lieber. He was born to the parents Celia(mother) and Jack Lieber(father) in the apartment of his Romanian-born Jewish immigrant parents at the corner of West 98th Street and West End Avenue in Manhattan.

His father was a trained dress cutter. He has one sibling, Larry Lieber. He used to share his bedroom during his teen years with his brother, Larry. There is no information about his mother.

Stan Lee was passionate about writing. One day he wanted to write Great American Novel. He did part-time jobs as writing obituaries for a news service and press releases for the National Tuberculosis Center; delivering sandwiches; working as an office boy; ushering at the Rivoli Theater on Broadway, and selling subscriptions to the New York Herald Tribune newspaper.

Education

Stan Lee attended DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx. He graduated from high school early at the age of 16 in 1939 and joined the WPA Federal Theatre Project.

For his early career, his uncle helped him work as an assistant at the new Timely Comics division of pulp magazine and comic book publisher Martin Goodman’s company.

He first debuted as a writer by writing his first comic book with the test filter “Captain America Foils the Traitor’s Revenge” in Captain America Comics #3.

Stan Lee later started creating famous and creative comic books as well as the movie, Spider-Man, The Hulk, Doctor Strange, The Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Daredevil, Thor, The X-Men, and many other fictional characters. He was also known as the former president and chairman of Marvel Comics.

In his career, he won many awards but the most prestigious award he won are The Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame and Jack Kirby Hall of Fame.
