Lily-Rose Depp suffered from kidney failure at an early age
Actress and model Lily-Rose Depp nearly died when her kidneys failed in 2007.
The daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis fought hard but everybody around her thought she was not going to make it.
Rose, just 7 at the time, contracted E.coli while her daddy was shooting in London for a movie. As her kidneys started shutting down, the child was then rushed to Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Along with that, Lily also suffered from anorexia which made her look quite skinny and fragile.
Johnny refused to return to continue filming until his daughter was out of danger. He and his then-partner Vanessa never left Lily’s side during her weeks-long hospitalization.
At one point, the couple thought Lily would certainly pass away due to the illness.
The disease that attacked her usually is caused due to improperly cooked meat or water contamination. Normally, it is a bacteria that lives inside the intestines of the victim.

What did Johnny say about Lily-Rose Depp’s illness?
Johnny was scared to death. While receiving the inaugural Rhonda’s Kiss Healing and Hope Award, he gave a heartfelt speech and asked all the parents who are going through a tough time to stay strong.
In his speech, he said:
“To the parents in the room who I was speaking about earlier, who I have seen melting and their own form of courage. I was one of those parents, for weeks, when my daughter was ill.”
He further added:
“I lived in the [London] hospital for three weeks with my girl and my kid, not knowing if she was going to make it or not. Parents, please note that you have my utter respect. Please note that you have all my respect, and you have my promise to continue to fight, this noble fight right alongside you at any time.”
After Lily got discharged from the hospital in a good state, her father’s happiness knew no bounds and he donated a massive $2 million to the hospital.
