Why Tish Cyrus did not want to divorce her ex-husband, Billy Ray Cyrus?

American producer and manager, Tish Cyrus, 57 divorced her husband, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, 63 last year. But it seems that she has some regrets about it. Tish Cyrus makes a confession about her 2023 divorce

American producer, Tish Cyrus, 57 was married to country singer, Billy Ray Cyrus, 63 in 1993. But they divorced in 2023 and share three children together. Recently, Tish appeared on the podcast of Kate and Oliver Hudson, Sibling Revelry. On it, she made some confessions about her divorce. Tish said:

“I never wanted to be divorced,”

She continued to narrate what went wrong and how it ended the way it did. Tish said:

“(But) for us, you’re in the public eye and the world that we exist in is already so odd, and at some times unstable. I wanted to make it work, probably for a little too long, like, for my own mental health. There became a point that, like, I didn’t have a choice.”

Tish, the only child of her parents

Tish’s three children with Billy are eldest daughter, Miley Cyrus, 32, son Braison Cyrus, 30 and daughter Noah Cyrus, 24. Even though all of their children were adults when Billy and Tish divorced, Tish said that it was a tough time for all of them.

The couple started dating and had Miley in 1992. Later, on 28 December 1993, they exchanged wedding vows. They first resided on a 500 acres farm outside of Nashville, Tennessee in Thompson’s Station. Later, they migrated to Los Angeles.

All was not well in their married life. They filed for divorce in 2010 but reunited. Later, in 2013, the two again filed for divorce. But they reconciled after counseling sessions. However, in April 2022, Tish again filed for divorce and said that she and Billy are staying separately since 2020.

Tish also revealed that she was the only child of her parents:

“I was an only child and had the best upbringing and best parents and never went through anything like that,”

Tish Cyrus’ past and present relationship after the divorce

Tish had married American drummer, Baxter Neal Helson, 57 in 1986. They have two children together. The eldest is Brandi Glenn Cyrus, 37 who is an American actress and DJ. The second child is son Trace Dempsey Cyrus, 35 who is an American musician. The kids carry the surname of Cyrus because after Tish married Billy, Billy had legally adopted both her children.

After her divorce, in November 2022, Tish confirmed that she is dating British-Australian actor, Dominic Purcell, 54. It came to light that earlier, Dominic was in a romantic relationship with Tish’s youngest daughter, Noah Cyrus.

However, before it became big headlines, Tish and and Dominic got engaged with a square-cut diamond engagement ring in April 2023. Sharing the news on her Instagram, Tish wrote:

“A thousand times…. YES,”

Later, they wed in Malibu in California in August 2023. It was a poolside wedding and Miley was the bridesmaid at the ceremony. Noah and Braison were not invited for the wedding because Tish did not want any drama or scene on that special day.
