Zayn Malik has announced the postponement of the U.S. leg of his eagerly awaited Stairway to the Sky tour following the tragic death of his former One Direction bandmate, Liam Payne.

The U.S. dates will now be rescheduled for January, while the UK schedule remains unchanged.

The shows that were originally scheduled to be performed by Malik in San Francisco this Wednesday and several other U.S. dates through November have been rescheduled.

“Given the heartbreaking loss experienced this week, I’ve made the decision to postpone the U.S. leg of the Stairway to the SKY Tour, The dates are being rescheduled for January, and I’ll post them as soon as it’s all set in the next few days. Your tickets will remain valid for the new dates. Love you all and thank you for your understanding.”
