Barack Obama and Michelle Obama marked their wedding anniversary together on Tuesday, October 3.

It’s the 31st wedding anniversary of the pair and the love between them is still untouched and smitten.

The couple paid heartwarming Instagram tributes to each other celebrating their special day. Michelle, 59, shared an adorable picture of the two posing outside with a golden sunset backdrop.

She wrote in the caption,

“31 years, and a lifetime to go. I love going through life with you by my side, @BarackObama, Happy anniversary, honey!”

The former president, 62, for his part, shared a photo of the duo posing with their arms around each other while dressed in coordinating blue outfits. She captioned the post alongside the photo,

“Happy anniversary, sweetheart! @MichelleObama, you’re brilliant, kind, funny and beautiful — and I’m lucky to call you mine”

Barack and Michelle are living a blissful conjugal life and have never failed to make each other feel special. The two have always been open about their marriage life throughout their 31-year-long journey.

Michelle gushed about her decades-long marriage to Barack in her 2022 book The Light We Carry. She began,

“They ask how we have managed to stay both married and unmiserable for 30 years now, I want to say, ‘Yes, truly, it’s a surprise to us too sometimes!'”

She continued,

“We have out issues, of course, but I love the man, and he loves me now, still and seemingly forever, Our love os not perfect, but it’s real and we’re committed to it.”

Michelle also mentioned the most challenging period of their journey revealing it’s been difficult to raise their two young daughters under a microscope while living in the White House during Barack’s presidency.

Barack first met Michelle at the Chicago office of the law firm Sidley Austin LLP, where she was assigned to mentor him.
