Greta Gerwig revealed that she gave birth to her second child four months ago.

The Barbie director who appeared in Elle UK’s cover story published on Wednesday gushed about her and Noah Baumbach‘s second child together, his third.

Gerwig revealed,

“He’s a little Schmoo,”
“That’s very much his energy. He’s a wise little baby.”

The new mommy said that ever since her boy arrived, she has been in a twilight state despite him sleeping through the night.

She explained,

“I’m still doing that thing where I wake up every hour to 90 minutes and just hover. You just keep wanting to look at that baby.”

Greta Gerwig and Baumbach already are parents to a 4-year-old son named Harold who was born in March 2019.

Baumbach, 53, for his part, also shares son Rohmer, 13, with his former wife, Jennifer Jason Leigh.

In an interview with Jimmy Fallon in December 2022, Gerwig talked about her growing family and joked that her baby bump debut the previous month went unnoticed.

The White Noise star, 39, said,

“I went to an event recently, and I wore something, and I thought everyone would be so interested that I was having another child,”
However, “nobody cared.”

She continued,

“It didn’t get reported on,”
“Turns out nobody’s paying attention.”

She told the audience that she couldn’t tell what her toddler made of the news as his younger brother was not yet “existent yet in front of him.”

Greta Gerwig and Noah primarily did their best to keep their son’s life as well as their relationship out of the spotlight.

The lovebirds started dating in 2011. Then in 2020, Gerwig referred to the Oscar nominee as her fiance.

In January of that same year, the director joked to James Cordon that she is confused about what to call the actor since fiance “makes it sound like there’s an imminent wedding.”

The screenwriter added,

“Boyfriend’ makes it sound like I just met him last week. Lover’ is disgusting. … So none of it works.”
